Indian Scouts Tree and Wreath Sale

Park Ridge Indian Scouts are holding a Christmas tree and wreath sale from now until December 23rd at the Community Center located at Touhy and Western in Park Ridge. Hours for the sale are: Weekdays from 4:30 – 9p.m. and Weekends from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. Please bring non perishable food items to assist the Maine Township Food Pantry and unopened toys to support the Maine Township General Assistance fund.

District 64 Provides Annual ISAT Report

2009 ISAT Scores Strong; State Report Cards Online

Park Ridge-Niles School District 64 students performed extremely well again on the Illinois Standard Achievement Test (ISAT) administered in March 2009, according to Larry Sorensen, Director of Technology Planning & Assessments. In addition, Mr. Sorensen reported to the Board of Education at its October 26 meeting that all schools and the District made “Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP)” toward goals established by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE). Sunday Suppers Offered at St. Paul of the Cross

The Park Ridge Ministerial Association sponsors Sunday Night Suppers, every Sunday beginning September 13, 2009. Doors open at 5:45 with a nutritious meal served at 6 p.m. The suppers take place at St. Paul of the Cross Church, 320 S. Washington in Park Ridge.

Park Ridge Civic Orchestra’s 16th Season

The Park Ridge Civic Orchestra has announced the schedule for its sixteenth season of concerts at the Pickwick Theatre in Uptown Park Ridge. The season includes five scheduled concerts, the first being held on Wednesday, October 21, 2009. In addition, there are three special events planned; Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker on December 12th, the 13th Annual Tea on Saturday, November 21st and the PRCO’s 9th Annual Gala on February 27, 2010.

City to discontinue brush/branch collection

Effective September 11, 2009, the City has discontinued the collection of brush/branches for chipping. Branches under 3 inches in diameter and 5 feet in length can be tied together in bundles weighing less than 50 pounds for collection with regular yard waste. Twigs and small brush can be broken up and placed in large paper yard bags (not plastic) or in special yard waste carts for collection by ARC Disposal.

Fall leaf collection will continue on the regular garbage collection schedule. For additional information, please visit www.parkridge.us

O’Hare Noise Complaint Website Now Operational

An O’Hare International Airport Web site launched in July for people to report aircraft-noise complaints online has been repaired and is now operational.

When the website was originally launched, suburban residents who tried to report complaints using the online complaint form discovered it would not accept addresses outside the city of Chicago.

The online site can be accessed by going to www.flychicago.com/environment/home.shtm and clicking on “Register Aircraft Noise Complaints Online.”

Residents Urged to Report Flooding Issues

Park Ridge residents who have experienced flooding in their home or on their property are encouraged to report this to the city so that these incidents can be documented.

Flooding incidents should be reported to Susan Tedeschi, Public Works, via e-mail at stedesch@parkridge.us, or by calling (847)318-5230. A detailed account of the type of flooding experienced should be provided.
