Park Ridge Civic Orchestra’s 16th Season
September 21, 2009The Park Ridge Civic Orchestra has announced the schedule for its sixteenth season of concerts at the Pickwick Theatre in Uptown Park Ridge. The season includes five scheduled concerts, the first being held on Wednesday, October 21, 2009. In addition, there are three special events planned; Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker on December 12th, the 13th Annual Tea on Saturday, November 21st and the PRCO’s 9th Annual Gala on February 27, 2010.

City to discontinue brush/branch collection
September 16, 2009Effective September 11, 2009, the City has discontinued the collection of brush/branches for chipping. Branches under 3 inches in diameter and 5 feet in length can be tied together in bundles weighing less than 50 pounds for collection with regular yard waste. Twigs and small brush can be broken up and placed in large paper yard bags (not plastic) or in special yard waste carts for collection by ARC Disposal.

O’Hare Noise Complaint Website Now Operational
September 16, 2009An O’Hare International Airport Web site launched in July for people to report aircraft-noise complaints online has been repaired and is now operational.
When the website was originally launched, suburban residents who tried to report complaints using the online complaint form discovered it would not accept addresses outside the city of Chicago.
The online site can be accessed by going to www.flychicago.com/environment/home.shtm and clicking on “Register Aircraft Noise Complaints Online.”

Residents Urged to Report Flooding Issues
July 2, 2009Park Ridge residents who have experienced flooding in their home or on their property are encouraged to report this to the city so that these incidents can be documented.
Flooding incidents should be reported to Susan Tedeschi, Public Works, via e-mail at stedesch@parkridge.us, or by calling (847)318-5230. A detailed account of the type of flooding experienced should be provided.
Park Ridge Post Office to Discontinue Sunday Hours in Lobby
September 22, 2008Effective October 5, 2008, Sunday hours in the post office’s outer lobby will be discontinued. Weekday and Saturday service will continue under current hours.
Customers can purchase stamps by phone at 1-800-STAMP24, at Chicago area Jewel and Dominick’s stores, Sam’s Club and Costco warehouse stores. In addition, 24/7 Automatic Postal Centers are available in selected other suburban community post offices which can handle weighing packages and purchasing postage. Area communities with this service include Des Plaines, Mt. Prospect and Glenview.
Use regular phones not cell phones for emergency calls

regular phone for “911” calls.
