Battery Recycling Program

The City of Park Ridge has begun collecting rechargeable and alkaline batteries from residents for recycling. The Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County (SWANCC) recently partnered with Interstate Batteries to provide the recycling to SWANCC communities.

Batteries may be dropped off at the Park Ridge Public Works Service Center, 400 Busse Highway, Monday thru Friday, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Batteries being accepted are:
  • Alkaline: AA, AAA, C, D and 9V
  • Rechargeable: NiCd, NiMh, lithium ion, lithium polymer – Before dropping off rechargeable batteries, residents need to tape the contact points on each battery or place in an individual self-locking plastic bag  to avoid sparks.
