Park Ridge prohibits discrimination in real estate transactions and in lending practices based on race, color, sex, age, religion, disability, national origin, ancestry, sexual orientation, gender expression, marital status, parental status, military discharge status, source of income or housing status.

The ordinance creates a Fair Housing Commission charged with the duty of enforcing Park Ridge’s Fair Housing Ordinance. Grievances are heard first by the City Manager and are then reviewed by the commission, which may be called upon to render a decision and possibly impose a fine on behalf of any person who feels that he/she has been aggrieved by violation of the ordinance.
